The organ is absolutely stunning, beautifully crafted and produces an enchanting sound that resonates throughout the entire building. Speaking of which, the building itself holds a fascinating history as it was once used as a stable by none other than Napoleon Bonaparte. The intricate details of the organ are simply mesmerizing, with each note played echoing through the grand halls and captivating everyone present. The ornate decorations adorning the instrument further enhance its elegance and give it a sense of grandeur.
As for the building, its transformation from a humble stable into a breathtaking concert hall is truly remarkable. The echoes of its past can still be felt within its walls, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the experience. Imagining the mighty horses that once occupied these halls while now being surrounded by awe-inspiring melodies is a testament to the rich history that lies within.
Undoubtedly, this unique combination of history and artistry makes this venue an unforgettable place to witness the organ in all its glory. Whether you're a music aficionado or a history enthusiast, the allure of this remarkable space will surely leave a lasting impression.
A church along the canals of Amsterdam where they have classical concerts during the cultural season. Great acoustics, lots of light and lovely atmosphere.
The concert was organized by a foundation for classical music from Curaçao and Latin America. What a fabulous afternoon filled with beautiful music. Worthwhile attending.
Amazing concert venue in the heart of Amsterdam. It used to be an old church and has the same high ceilings, now emphasised with a brilliant and colourful light show.
This church, which is constructed of wood - a rarity in Amsterdam - and hosts concerts & art exhibitions, boasts delicately carved acanthus-topped columns and matching ceiling consoles. The height of the ceiling in the crossing breaks what would otherwise be a perfect cube. With its finely proportioned windows, this intimate little building has the grace and style of a very fine jewelry box.
I enjoyed the concert with a wonderful atmosphere. The location is also very good.
What an amazing space for a concert. Well worth a visit.
Great place with lots of restaurants and near by to Amsterdam central by tram
I was there for a piano concert and loved it. Lovely building, great atmosphere, nice interior and good acoustics. Ideal place for an intimate concert.
Beautiful location overlooking the canal. Street parking in the direct vicinity. Closest tram stop is on Vijzelstraat, about a 12 minute walk 🚶‍♀️ to the venue.
